Principle and Working:
In half-wave rectification, either the positive or negative half of the AC waveform is allowed to pass, while the other half is blocked. A full-wave rectifier converts the entire input waveform into one of constant polarity (either positive or negative) at its output. A filter capacitor is an energy storage device installed at both ends of the rectifier circuit. It helps to reduce the ripple in the AC signal and improves the efficiency and smoothness of the resulting DC output. A regulated power supply is an electronic circuit designed to produce a constant DC voltage or power output. It maintains consistent output regardless of variations in load current, input voltage, or temperature. An unregulated power supply, on the other hand, provides a fixed output based on the input and load conditions. Even small variations in the input voltage can directly affect the output voltage.
