Advanced Polarimeter
Item Code : SK011
Principle and Working:
An advanced polarimeter is an instrument used to measure the rotation of the polarization plane in optically active liquids. It is commonly used to analyze the concentration and composition of substances like sugar solutions. The polarizer produces linearly polarized light, which then passes through the half-wave plate and the sample substance. After this, the light travels through the analyzer to the eyepiece, where a triple shadow field can be observed. The angle of rotation is measured using a circular scale and vernier.
- Stand alone setup built-in sodium lamp, power supply and polarimeter tube.
- Built -in magnifier to read vernier & main scale.
- Modern and user friendly design (scale & triple shades of light source are visible simultaneously)
- Compact design required less space in Laboratory.
- Least count 0.05°
- Sodium bulb with pin sockets for easy replacement
- To study the principle of operation of a Bi-Quartz polarimeter (triple shade view).
- Rotation of plane of polarization with sugar solution.
- To determine the concentration of sugar solution with advance polarimeter.
