Principle and Working:
A coupled pendulum system consists of two identical pendulums connected by a spiral spring, allowing energy transfer between them. Depending on the initial conditions and coupling strength, the system exhibits different oscillation modes such as:In-phase: Both pendulums swing together.Out-of-phase: Pendulums swing in opposite directions.Beat mode: Energy oscillates between the two.A motion detector records the amplitude and time response of each pendulum, helping to study resonance, energy transfer, and normal modes in coupled systems.
